Security prevented him from travel... Al-Khaiwani still under threats

By Sami Noaman..
Security officers of Sana'a Airports did not allow the Yemeni journalist Mohammed Abdulkareem Al-Khaiwani to travel to Cairo this early morning..
He was planning to attend a conference in Cairo which organized by the Egyptian National council of Human rights and the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights...
The Yemeni delegation members, which include Mr Shawqi Al-Qadi The member of the freedom committee in the Yemeni Parliament, Mohammed Naji Allaw the head of Hood Human rights org, Sami Ghaleb the editor-in-chief of Al-Nedaa newspaper, Abdulbari Taher the former chairman of the Yemeni syndicate of journalists, and Ms Afraa Hariri a human rights activist, they all made a sit-in in the airport to make pressure on the security to allow him to travel.. They noted that he received a pardon from the president in Sep 25, 2008, and that pardon demand removing all restrictions on him.. The airport office said that they need a formal letter from the authorities..
"It is necessary for the regime to reorganize it's offices, that it never serves the regime, but it make the local and international opinion against it.. Disallowing Al-khaiwani from travel is not corresponding with the president pardon, and it is silly that there is offices grant pardon and others arrest.. the different authorities does not comply with each other"..
"The airport officers called some high officers but it seemed that they did not be sure that it is allowed for me to travel".. Al-khaiwani Said.
A source from the National security org (The intelligence) said that they are not responsible for the problem of Al-Khaiwani, and his stopping was according to the order of Passports department which asked for a formal letter from the ministry of interior to allow him to travel .
It is the second time Al-khaiwani couldn't travel.. the prohibited him from traveling in Dec 9, 2006 when he was invited to attend the red cross meeting in Morocco.. However he traveled after that..
"I had not received any formal letter from judiciary authorities or any other authority tell me that it is not allowed for me to travel. I know that only in the airport. "
The Yemeni delegation members refused to travel without Al-Khaiwani, so the officer canceled their departure visas and left the airport with Al-Khaiwani..
It is supposed for Al-khaiwani and his friends to make a press conference at the office of hood org. " We seek to send a message to the high officers of the country to see and hear what are the abuses made by security orgs. We hope that they think correctly and stop these illegal and unconstitutional procedures" Said the lawyer Mohammed Allaw the head of Hood org of human rights to Al-Sahwa.
The security forces don't have the right by itself to prohibit any citizen from movements or travel, and what happene for Al-Khaiwani is a abuse for the laws and the constitution and that prove the political trend of Al-Khaiwani case.
It is known that the president grant AL-Khaiwani a pardon and other political prisoners as a political treatment for the crisis with the opposition and the judiciary committed to that pardon and as a result there is no sequences for the charges before the pardon, and what happened with Al-Khaiwani is going under the false understanding of the authorities of the Security and it's rule limits and its commitment to the laws.
In an interview with Al-Wasat newspaper the issue of Nov 12, 2008, the minister of the justice that the trail of Al-Khaiwani is stopped" The president order was to stop the implementing of the sentence and there is no difference between the peremptory pardon or suspending the punishment (….) The pardon was for the previous charges and I confirm that it is peremptory " . Dr Ghazi Al-Aghbari also confirmed that there is not trail for Al-Khaiwani within the cell that he was charged to be a member of a terrorist group related to Al-Huthi.." There is no problem at all with Al-Khaiwani." .
It is supposed for Al-Khaiwani to participate in the The 3rd Arab Free Press Forum organized by the World Association of Newspapers and the Lebanese An-Nahar daily newspaper in Beirut, Lebanon, on 12 and 13 December next to explore the latest press developments in the Arab world.
Yemeni journalists and Activists hope that they can make the needed pressure on the Yemeni authorities to make Al-Khaiwani move freely to any place..
